What should I wear?
This is a casual week — shorts, golf shirts, and t-shirts are appropriate. While the temperatures can be around 25°C in mid August, most rooms will be air conditioned; Bring a sweater or sweatshirt to stay warm when needed.
Will I have to work in a large group?
In Odyssey 101, participants are part of a small Group of Critical Friends. Each group can have up to 7 participants and 1 coach who will help guide your week.
In Odyssey 202, participants are part of a small Group of Critical Friends. Each group can have up to 10 participants and 1 coach who will help guide your week.
In Odyssey 201 and Odyssey 203, participants are part of a small Group of Critical Friends. Each group can have up to 10 participants and 1 coach who will help guide your week.
There are also times when all participants will gather as a large group to have discussions with speakers and the whole group.
What is your cancellation policy?
The registration deadline for the Academy is July 15th. However, registrations may still be accepted up to the week before the Academy provided space is available.
Cancellations prior to August 1st will receive a full refund, less a $50 administration fee.
Cancellations after August 1st will receive a 50% refund.
What time should I arrive at to register?
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, August 19th, followed by breakfast. (Odyssey 101, 201, & 203).
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20th, followed by breakfast. (Odyssey 302).
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21st, followed by breakfast. (Odyssey 202).
How many hours a day can I expect to be engaged in learning activities?
The Academy begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday. We will be going out for supper together on Monday evening right after our academy time. On Friday, the Academy will be dismissed at 1:30 p.m. See the 'Schedule' for a detailed itinerary (coming soon!).
When are meals provided?
Breakfast 8:30 a.m.
Lunch 12:00 p.m.
Dinner 5:00 p.m. (Monday, August 19th only) (Odyssey 101 & 201).
Refreshment breaks are provided throughout all days, and on Monday to Thursday Appetizers will be provided at local restaurant SouthCote 53. Beverages are available for purchase.
I am from out of town and need accommodations for the week. Do you have any suggestions for where I can stay?
